Nearing the end of our first year funding with SSE, we have with their support engaged with many customers at both our centre in Stranraer and outreach locations including Newton Stewart.
We have supported individuals by providing Free Internet access ,tuition in basic computing and online skills & enabling access to Internet services as well as supporting customers with their employability needs.
We have worked tirelessly to support customers who are ‘digitally terrified’ and who have difficulty in using a digital device or unable to access to the Internet.
By providing these services and with the support of SSE we have been able to form strong partnerships with local agencies, and more importantly, have been help those who are furthest from the labour market by addressing their needs.
SLIC continues to provide Free digital support to everyone within our rural community enabling people to overcome digital barriers and being more socially active with friends and family as well as having the ability to access online services and utilities.
